Photographer’s Note
I traveled to the east of Paraguay this week. It was a short trip, only three days but I am really happy anyway.
I enjoy a lot leaving the office and the phones and go along the routes to see the green fields and forrests.
As you approach the city border with Brazil Ciudad del Este, it is possible to verify that people also speak portuguese or at least speak portuñol which is a combination of spanish and portuguese.
Other feature of this part of Paraguay is the color of the land. It turns red. This can be seen on the walls of the houses which with time turn red by the influence of the strong color of the land.
We call this land "tierra colorada".
In Yguazu town, we were searching land for a new tower and we found a little house. While talking with the owner (the father of the baby) in portuguese, his name was "Arantes", (same as Pele) the baby appeared with tons of curiosity to see these strangers arriving home. It was certainly something new and unknown.
The baby remained at the door which were almost completely closed as we were strangers and therefore untrusted people.
I liked the scene, the red colors, the two subjects...right there. I couldnt resist to photograph them. Please notice the red tone of the white cat.
Hope you like it.

I like te high contrast, the warm redtones and the darkness in this shot, Cesar, and I also like the way they look to different directions.

Hey Cesar, glad to see one of your pictures again.
And wits such a beautifil composition and colour. I wouldn't call him a baby anymore, but he's funny. I like the cat especially, he's having his eyes half closed, he's feeling great.
My cat was with a colleague of mine, she stayed in the attick for 5 weeks, not happy without me, so I'm focussed on cats ;-)

heeeela Cesar...
nice photograph! I love cats as they are always in their own world and not caring about what happening around them... would be a great life huh... the boy is a bit to old for his comforter, when i was his age my dad gave me a beer to shut up ;)...
but I like what you did here in this compo!!
and now hurry up back to the office boy!!!
take care

What a sweet scene Cesar! Both "objects" look so placid... The general red tones all over but the boy's clothes give a warm feeling and highlight the boy. Well spotted!

Good boy with his soother, seems rather old for still a soother, anyway, good boy, the cat even feels at ease with him ..... the subjects , 3, makes this picture, colors and framing are good supporting here, warm brown framing, a perfect fit to green doors, together a contrasting background.

I like the frame of brown and reddish tones that you got around your subjects here, Cesar. Nice posing by both, with the cat showing a typical "don't care" attitude, and the boy looking surprisingly old for still using a comforter. Very nice, looking forward to more photos from your short trip.
Another thing your note made me learn is about "portuñol" which I don't think I had heard about before.

Nicely judged framing with the red ochre walls. Cat is...just a cat, minding his own business, I am a bit perplexed by the kid who has a honeysuckle, but looks too old to still have one. What gives?

It is a very well contrasted photo and I'm not talking only about the colors but also about the attitudes of your subjects. I wish you could send this photo to the boy when he is grown up so he can learn a bit about his childhood. Nice done.

Hello Cesar
you made a very beautiful photograph
everyone said that the child was too tall for his "tétine".
but important it is the tender atmosphere which you offers to us.
good shot for the hunt

oh my goodness this young guy already has a coolness like a 30 year old... i see him in the same position in 20 years with the same look on his face just with a cigarette instead of the pacifier. little macho man!!! great and unusual photography!!
