Itaipu hydro power plant, situated near Iguacu Falls, is the largest of its kind in the world. The powerplant is owned by Brasil and Paraguay together. It is the water from the Paraná river that is used.

what a difficult place to photograph, is´t it, Monica? I´ve been there and i have a bunch of shots of the dam but still i do not fancy posting them here. we do not have the idea of how big it is...
as for your shot, i think the light was against you here. what is dark is too dark and the sky is blown out.
just a small correction in your note: its name is Itaipu Binacional - by binational meaning Brasil and Paraguay.
