I'm posting this poor and terribly boring photo of the entrance to Lethem because there's a serious lack of photos from Guyana here. I've been always so curious about the country; Nobody goes there, no one knows anything about it, and South Americans don't look at it as a part of what should be called South America. Yet, it's got so much potential as a tourist destination in the future.
Lethem borders Brazil, where I think in the future could be a great spot to start to develope tourism, because this zone is safe, while Georgetown, where the few tourists that go to Guyana, go to, is extremely unsafe. The weird thing it, that Lethem is closer to all the major spots of interest than Georgetown. Also it is very close to the major tourist hubs of SANTA ELENA in Venezuela and MANAUS in Brazil.
This is Lethem.
