Photographer’s Note

Photo taken while we were dining on the roof top terrace of a restaurant in Quito. It has a 180 degree view of the sorroundings, some of which I have posted already in TE and TL.

I could play around with the colors and tones of this photo for better impact but I do not want it "censored" by TE administrators like what happened to a couple of my photos.

The City of Quito, officially San Francisco de Quito, is the capital of Ecuador in northwestern South America. It is located in north central Ecuador in the Guayllabamba river basin, on the eastern slopes of Pichincha, an active strato-volcano in the Andes mountains. Quito is the second most populous city in Ecuador, after Guayaquil. It is also the seat of the Metropolitan District of Quito. It is also the headquarters of the Union of South American Nations.

The elevation of the city's central square (Plaza de La Independencia or Plaza Grande is 2,850 m (about 9,350 ft), making Quito the second highest capital city in the world.
