A really delightful shot. The color contrast is smooth and appealing. I think the dark peaks should be lightened a bit. I don't post here very often, but sometimes I just scan through the shots, and I must confess this picture jumped right out at me from the monitor. Nicely Done.

Hi Kristaps, great light in this picture, and the point of view is good, just making one follow the river till the dark mountains. Congrats! chau chau,
Maria
I like this one a lot, because of the brigh green the shot feels very crisp and fresh. the gurgling water adds a nice cheerful touch to the otherwise rough and tought-looking view. I like how you have placed the river in the shot, it perfectly leads the eye towards the dark mountains in the distance (speaking of which - I keep thinking that they're too regular for "just" mountains, especially the one on the right).
excellent illustration to the Cotopaxi National Park, I like it a lot.
hugs,
K.

Hi Kristaps,
Fine, fine shot. Even though it's simple, it is extremely well taken. Nice POV. For a nature lover like me, I simply adore these kind of pics. TFS.

Shaeri
Hello Kristaps,
Outdoor lighting doesn't get any harder than this. The contrast is right off the scale; the harsh high altitude, equatorial sunlight mixed with the dark shadows. Theoretically this photo should not work, bit it does beautifully. Your photographic skills and the D300 really came through for you here. A circular polarizer would have helped with the reflections from the vegetation and the water. Still this is a fascinating photograph and it gives me a great sense of the otherworldly feeling that this high altitude area gives. The photos that you, Kristine and Henk have posted have given me a great new appreciation of Ecuador. This is a great shot that is growing on me the more that I look at it. What an adventure! Excellent work!

Hi Kristaps,
it's such a particular view with the dark hills on the background, the vivid green of the grass and the freshy water. Your pov is really good. You knew how to work with those elements. Clarity and natual colors please me a lot. Very well done!
Regards,
Carlos
Excellent shadowplay, buddy!
Love those dark peaks in the background!
VERY good POV, with that little stream perfectly placed, and your usual VERY professional management of light and color.
This is a shot that grows, and keeps growing the more you look at it.
Great job.
Cheers,
Fulvio.

Hello Kristaps
I like very much that river going through that stony field. The two black silhouettes in the background make a good contrast of light. The lush green in the foreground fits well with the blue of the sky. :)
Best regards
Denis!

Hi Kristaps,
Very good composition with great mountains' silhouetes in the background. The water frozen became very well captured and the the colored small rocks on the left is beautiful, too. So, I think that the Ecuador has splendid places for interestings captures. Good photo. Best Regards, Consuelo

Hi Kristaps,
Wonderful high altitude capture of this tiny brook located high above the tree line. The lush green landscape contrast beautifully with the blue and white sky. The smooth round mountain tops are very eye catching as they touch the lovely sky. The colors are very clear with excellent details to this beautiful mountain landscape.

Hi Kristaps, how are you? I haven't been posting or writing critiques for a while, but today I have some time at work. This is a very beautiful place to take a photo. it seems that you are as far as you could be from civilization. Nice having the stream of water. I love the green of the grass, very intense, also how the hills in the background are under the shadows of the clouds, very nice!!!
Good job like usual!!

I imagine the sound of the water passing thru!
The sharpness is very good and the colours are so beautiful. The clouds cover the hills and create their figures against the sky.
Very good work!
Thanks for sharing those attractive images.
Best wishes,
Athanasios.

Hello Kristaps,
a very sensitive shot with the rivulet running down the hill side.Excellent and vivid the colours as the light too.The shadow near the hills helps the foreground to bring out the details of the greenery.Informative your note too.

Hi Kristaps,
Whats really fascinating here is the brightness. Looks very jotfully bright, and the dark peaks provide a refreshing contrast. The brook looks very lively, and I loved the overall mood of the shot.

Sagarneel.

Hello Kristaps,
Indeed river and forests have to protect, so signs by bridges are very correct "the river is life. protect it!"
You play excellent with light and shadows , but also nice perspective with the river, lovely generaly picture.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
John.

Très aride cette contre Kristaps, mais aussi très séduisante. On est proche de l'équateur, mais à cette altitude, on ne le croirait pas.
Paysage d'une autre planète, jeme réjouis d'en voir d'autres.
Regards.
Daniel.

Good morning, Kristaps.
I like the way you show this very nice small, but energetic river which erodes the grassy and rocky ground. When you see the size of the blocks carried by the stream, you can realize that it can probably get really furious and impressive. The composition is well balanced and the colors nicely saturated.
Thanks for sharing.
