another shot from our two-day trip around the Quilotoa loop, and I honestly cannot say which part was more beautiful - the lagoon itself or the road to it with breathtaking views of the Andean mountains and constantly changing light and shadow play.
I realise that the clouds are a bit overexposed, but I hope not too much and the shot still works.

Hi Kristine,

beautiful view. Most lovely pattern of field patches, a playground for clouds shadows. The enormity of human shaped landscape is overwhelming. Bright white clouds do not bother me, they give the feeling of strong light of the day and they nicely form a window for the blue sky. It must have been such a great day!

Kind regards,
Jeri

Hello Kristine,
stunning result delivered with the pattern on the ground so beautiful to look at with it colours and shades. The view is beautiful and compo works well with the contrast between the green of the fields and the blue sky. A bit overexposed the clouds but just a bit and doesn't really bother the beautiful result.
Thanks for sharing
Regards

Igor

What a stunning picture! I love the different kinds of field. The green is so beautiful. The blue sky in combination with the green, gives a great result!

So many good elements combined to make a great overall image. The colors of the patchwork fields are stunning. Don't worry about the clouds - the shot works!

:) hey, dear...

thank you... yes, i do love GREEN. a lot... and this is just the right kind of gift for that craving of mine. don't care about the over-exposure on the clouds. imnaaho, it actually works to the benefit of this composition, making the sky more radiant and luminous. i love the way you see and present these patchworks. good work!

my compliments and an even bigger THANKS :)

hugs,
K.

ps. i guess, i better get on a flight to a desert now ;)

Hi Kristine,
You have captured this patchwork brilliantly.
Love the different shades of green. Amazing contrast between the green patches and the sharp blue sky and the white clouds. wonderful Excellent control of the light.
Excellent work!!

Wonderful patterns and wonderful greens, indeed!
I can't but agree with Kristaps : that slight cloud overexposure (IMNAAHO too) works to the lighting benefit of your composition.
I like it a lot!
Cheers,
Fulvio.

Hi Kristine,

It's looks like patchwork, I love it! Great job of recognizing the natural patterns and composing it so well. It looks like a cloudy day so your timing was good to catch so much of it in the nice direct sunlight.

Good job,

Mel

Hello Kristine!
What a wonderful place!
Beautiful colours and good light!
Lovely sky!
Nice perspective!
Best regards!
Lili

Hi Kristine,
Once again this is a great shot, i love the pattern of green and the difference of colors / tones, your gestion of contrasts is just perfect to put in evidence that point.
Good POV and the PP is really top class, sharpness on top

Salut Kristine, and thank you for your note :) I do the same thing sometimes, I upload and then I see things that I have overseen, and "bang" ... deleted. We learn, this is the main thing, but I loved the idea about our little yoga session, and that we can help other members to relieve stress. All so funny. This is wonderful up here, and I like the little carpets, and there seems to be no end of greens and browns and even some yellow. I like that you left just a little bit of sky but plenty of room for the fields ... they are truly something. Excellent! Barbara.

Hello Kristine,
Excellent job of mixing up the perspective of this "hodge podge" of quilted patterns. You have a completely different rendition of this hillside than your earlier post. That is what good photographers do; we approach a scene and try to think of every possibility. When I was at the Grand Canyon years ago, I saw a busload of overseas tourists walk very quickly from their bus to the South Rim of ther Grand Canyon, take a quick snapshot or two and then scurry back into the bus. They spent hours on a plane, in motels, and on the bus ride and spent exactly 11.75 seconds looking at one of the most spectacular sights in the world. I doubt that any one of them took more that three snapshots. That is why you are so successful, not only as a photographer but as a true traveler. You have a keen sense of observation and insatiable curiosity. This is a great travelogue!

Olá krsitine,
interessante essas plantações ao longo da colina, mesmo com o relevo acidentado, isso sim é aproveitamento da terra. Boas cores na foto também!
Parabéns e Abraço!

You just have proven Kristine, that our planet earth is made out of patched, woven divans of the most incredible earthy tones the mother earth can produce for us, the earthlings…

I have that uneasy feeling that we are the apes no more…

Hi Kristine,

Beautiful high altitude shot of these wonderfully tapestries of the fields with their striking lines. The lush green is seen in lovely varying shades as it reaches towards the contrasting blue sky with its dramatic cloud patterns.
Regards, Tom

Nice and dramatic shot of this landscape and a country I've been meaning to visit. Nice work and a good capture of the patterned landscape in what seems to be challenging lighting conditions. Nice work.

Splendid view Kristine. Gives me the shivers so strong is the impact of this landscape shaped by humans yet retaining a wilderness in the upper part. You have done a great job in rendering the variety of luscious greens...I like very much the darker part of the fields and then the strong sky light and good big clouds. Excellent series on this trip, you are showing us this country in a very diverse way with a lot of sensitivity and competence!

TFS
Have a great day in NYC
Michèle

Kristine, what a wonderfully crisp and coorful shot, very nicely done.

Greg

Hello Kristine,
this shot is exactly of the kind I like, mountains a shades drawn by clouds on the land. Beautiful, fragile and temporary impression that changes all the time and survives only if captured by a photographer's heart.
Bravo
Best regards
Romana
