Photographer’s Note
Looking over the water at Santiago Island from Bartolomé Island an expanse of young volcanic features can be seen.
The skyline of Bartolomé is dominated by the large pinnacle-shaped rock on the right which was used for target practice by the US Navy in WW II. A naval artillery shell can be seen still lodged in the upper part of the rock.
A superb snorkeling site is situated around the pinnacle and while I was strolling along the bay on the left of the shot, the sea was literally teaming with reef sharks 'playing' in the waves coming ashore.

This is a nice shot of a really interesting place. The colours are great though muted because of the overcast day. The contrast of the rich green and brown is good. It may need sharpening a bit, and for me it's a little bit too dominant in the centre of the photo - it may be better to off-set it a little. But a good shot all the same.
