The ring of fire is a major tectonic belt along which volcanoes and earthquakes occur. A large part of Ecuador being in the Andes Mountains, this country boasts of a number of volcanoes.
The Octavalo valley has a very fertile soil due to the fact that it is at the foot of so many volcanos.

I like this photo because it reminds me of what I remember from my time in Ecuador. The land there seems so large and the people just set upon it. I like the lighter area under the rainbow and the darker area over the top. Nice shot.
