first time I saw the jungle, and not just anywhere, but in Ecuador, where El Oriente is the beginning of the Amazon basin. El Oriente ("the east") comprises the Amazon rainforest areas in the eastern part of the country, accounting for just under half of the country's total surface area, though populated by under 5 percent of the population.

this is what I saw - endless green disappearing in the distant mist with a single yellow tree. pitty I cannot attach an audio file with the sounds of the place.

and before you ask - no, I have no comment about the workshop :D

Good morning Kristine! Yeah the yellow tree, this makes the picture, no doubt! Without it, it would be just "another" jungle with some moisture in the air, but the yellow is the dot on the i and makes this picture a very special one. I just wrote Leo some seconds ago that I would like to hear the chicken in his village (somewhere in Laos) and you say the same thing with your jungle music that you have in mind. Oh well, let's enjoy it as it is. Have a good working day, I have my free afternoon :)))) Barbara.

Hello Kristine. Actually an interesting landscape photo. This yellow flowering tree makes the picture worth seeing. Really originally. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Kristine,

Hi Kristine, very nice photo and very well coposed. I like the nice green in the foreground and how it fades to the background. Also that yellow spot on the trees gives the photo a touch of life.
Very nice!!!

Daniel

Really great shot to have the yellow among the green. Seeing this photo is like home for me, we are blessed with similar tropical rainforest like this.

Great work.

Hej Kristine
such different some colour spot makes, the green get so much greener, all trough a perfect comp
with good details.
Cheers //Anders

Bonjour Kristine
le contraste créé par cette tache jaune dans toute cette verdure est saisissant, de même que celui entre ce premier rideau de verdure, et le fond, plus lointain.
Merci du partage.
Antoine.

Hi Kristine,

Very interesting vista looking out into the Amazon. The yellow tree is a great focal point and to me makes a statement "look at me I'm different" than the rest. Color and contrast is perfect as is sharpness.

Mike

Hi Christian,
Beautiful landscape shot. Love the yellow tree in the middle of the green forest.
Well done. Bravo!!

Hello Kristine,
Beautiful shot of the jungle and very observant of you to spot the orange vegetation on top of trees's canopy. Your usual excellent composition and a good use of the layered effect to create a sense of depth. You also did a great self portrait and you are a true warrior-traveler. Great job!
Stan

Hello Kristine,
Saw the picture, nice...very nice. That yellow tree does it all, what a clever idea to put that one in the framing, i like that a lot.
Depth is amazing by the different layers which end up in the clouds.
But then, reading the note, clicked the ws...and guess what. A lady with beautiful eyes, great lips and some dirt around her face, that's the real globe trotter ;-)
Have a great weekend, Henk

ciao Kristine,
An attractive visual of the forest and to the horizon the mountainous tops, I looked at the WS, and I saw a "WARRIOR" ready to action!!!!!

cheers sERGIO

Hello Kristine,

That single yellow tree lends a mystique, it is a wonderful highlight for a photograph which otherwise presents an endless sea of broccoli like foliage. Your note is highly informative. One of my closest friends from university days lives in Ecuador — I will allert him to this excellent photograph.

Warm regards,

Bulent

Hi Kristine, this rain forest does seem very extensive and I am sure sound of the forest was wonderful and mysterious. Well chosen POV and I can see you used the coloured tree to best frame your composition. Great WS was not expecting that :) Regards Steve.

Bonsoir Kristine
Superbe point de vue sur cette forêt avec les montagnes en arrière plan .Notre regard est attiré par cet arbre jaune qui se détache dans tout ce vert et c'est du plus belle effet
Vraiment très beau
Amitiés

Hi Avene,
This lovely misty scene feels so junglish that I can almost hear the birds and insects. That golden tree makes an excellent and necesary focal point. Any here I expected the WS to be an over-saturated, very contrasty rendition of your beautiful photo. Clearly Kristaps somehow survived his encounter with that fierce jungle warrior; probably you saved him ;-)

Hi Kristine,
Wonderful shot of the lush thickly wooded rainforest. The little bit of yellow adds nice relief to the sea of green. Nice varying shades as the forest moves towards the heavy rain. Very effective stormy grey sky.
