"This One?"

I was making the famous trainride from Riobamba to Alausi on the roof of the train (as all tourists do) and passing along the way several trainstations. This trainride is very spectacular....a must do when you are in that area of Ecuador. The landscape along the way is fantastic.
Of course the local people will try to sell their home made creations to you on every station you stop.
No....i didn't buy one ;-)

Any comment is more than welcome..!!

Hi Henk, these colourful women with their even more colourful wares are so very well framed against the two-tone architecture. Xpertly composed, colour- and joyful work.
And oh yes, this train ride is also on my list ;-)
Very good work, congrats.
Have a nice weekend,
Bert

I like this square composition. The colors are so vivid and go so well together that we can almost feel them in 3D. The handcraft is so well mingled with the architecture. This is really a portrait of the culture of a people. And it tells a story! Personally, I wouldn't have resisted the woman's expression and buy one. Very good picture.

The square crop works very well with this photo. I like the colors and I find it interesting how the two women are engaging the viewer. No, I don't want to buy one either, thanks anyway.

A very nice color scheme, Henk--did you pay them to wear those clothes?? It's a typical scene around the world in terms of content, but this version is much more artistic than most, thanks to those colors. The square format is a good choice. Regards, Ken.

Hello Henk,
A very colorful composition. I like the green/red building in the back ground and the way these two women are positionned in front. Your framing is good too. A pity you didn't buy one of these. It would have been great to pack your camera gera! ;o)
Have a nice day.
Brigitte

Lekkere kleurtjes Henk en mooie rustige/simpele achtergrond.
Toch vraag ik me af wat die linkse nou met die pan in d'r handen moet?

Groetjes
An

Hi Henk,
Hi Henk,
After the wonderful colors in your well-framed compo, what struck me is how tiny they are. I kept thinking that the perspective makes them look smaller; but even the taller woman only comes up to the bottom of the window frame. It's frustrating when you only have time for a quick shot that the autofocus picks a background detail although as your many comments above note, the wonderful colors and framing carry the day. Riding on the roof of the train sounds uncomfortable and scary but anything for the photo. After looking at your proframe website, I wondered if you had a specific reasaon for focusing on the building?
Regards, Pat

Hello Henk,
This is a class daily life scene.Your captured
is excellent with these vivid colors allround.
Very interesting,Good job!
Frieandly Regards,
Thomas

Listening to 'Hugh Hopes' while looking at this image creates almost an interactive experience. The song start to play while I was reading your bio. Great portrait!

Cheers,
Enrique

Good take, Henk! Good timing with the lady holding the artesian! This is SO typical of Andean South America (i.e., Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador), I was sure it was shot in Peru!
Good vivid green colors (not my taste, but heck, they live there not me...), and the expression of enthusiasm on the lady is remarkably contrastic with that of the old gawking lady in black...humorous in some sore of way...
:)
TFS!

Hello Henk,
I don't know why but they seem to be fond of strong colours in the Andes..! And you capture them very well, both the vendors and the merchandise!
Well composed... An image telling a story, well done!

Hi Henk,
Nice street scene showing these women in their colourful garments against the colorful house. What I like most in this picture is the rich mixture of vivid colours which are creating a strong contrast, like the green and reds on the house. Well done!

Hi Henk
excellent choice of a square composition. Vivid colours almost has a 3D effect. I like this even more because it shows the art & culture of a far off land..excellent stuff!

Hi Henk,

I enjoy this photo, for colours and technical quality, but for reality too. I mean that it's part of third world reality and tourism adaptation. And It's really interesting to see people creativity.
Well done Henk,
Best Regards
