ride for Friday night Photo

Photographer’s Note

a bit of irony here - brigthly painted tourist bus from Baños, while it is snowing heavily here in New York City, which means any kind of movement, be it on foot or by car, is quite an adventure. airport delays are aproaching 7 hours, and since I'm leaving for Latvia the day after tomorrow, this kind of weather is the very last thing I wanted to see.

anyhow, after Friday yoga class and Friday Night disco, it is time for cruising around the city to show off the car. well, a bus in this case. nothing sophisticated here, just colours. T.G.I.F.! (Thank God It's Friday!)

Hello Kristine,

Very original idea, the crop is bold also. A great example here of advertising on wheels. I like how the collage is punctuated with the word 'Ecuador' to confirm the destination. I suspect there was not much to see in the windscreen except an unattractive reflection, so you have done well to produce this rendition. The saturation level is very good, helps the viewer fully appreciate the colour range. I have always admired photographers who manage to offer the 3D effect in their photos; I think here it is helped by the shadow of the frame. Brilliant work! TFS.

you do the greatest colors. That is so perfectly sharp and clear, just astonishing detail and those incredible colors. I just saw a shot on the weather channel from NY... Good luck. I don't miss that stuff at ALL. Have a great trip and thanks!

lol, dear

another color succulent foto. great, saturated joy for the weekend! i like the close crop, which really helps us to concentrate on... the chaos of colors on the bus. by the way, your frame nicely finishes off the composition here, in my opinion. sorry we could not find the words for circo mistico song. in my mind, that would be really appropriate here (look at the colors of manu chao's website...).

WOW Kristine, love this one!!!! What a great idea for you to take this photo and for them to do that.
Great colors and composition. I think you could crop the left of the photo where you can see the tire, I know that helps to understand that what we are seeing is a truck, but at the same time if you take that it would be fun for people to try to figure it out what that is.

yes, T.G.I.F. with another excellent post of most positive and exploding happy output. I love Baños. O, how I would enjoy staying there. You are showing this city in most positive and frendly way so I cannot imagine it any other. Still, I'll pass this showing off ride cause I'm dead tired, so the only showing off will be introducing my colourfull pijamas to my bed. :P

The famous' chivas', as striking and original, which also have here in Colombia.

You set at one interesting element of this mode of transport, a 'collage' tour, live tones, great definition, framing and contrast. Excellent!

I've been closely eye-scanning this picture to see if I could detect somebody familiar reflected in it, but... no! LOL!!!

I think that I would have otherwise suited (without the windscreen), I would just have cut over windscreen wipers, it would not prevent from understanding that it is a bus and it would centre more on the decoration.

Lovely shot, and close to blinding - where are my sunglasses??? I like the framing, including the way you kept the windshield intact. Looks like you clipped just a bit too much in the lower right, is all.

:-) It took me a while to realize what I was looking at. The nice tight crop really makes this photo somewhat of a puzzle to figure out. I like the idea here, it almost like looking at a collage of Ecuador. Good eye.

I've viewed your portfolio, and I am impressed by the numerous images which focus on colour......colour that surrounds us during our daily lives. One needs a good eye for this, to filter out those elements which brighten our days. You've definitely got the ability to do this as is evident in your colourful photod. This is another good example of that ability. Very nice, well done.
