the place is "Miramelindo" - hotel in the little town of Rio Verde by the river of the same name, about 30 min drive fom Baños. I'm not sure I could ever describe it properly, so let me just say that while we waited for our lunch to be ready (the best shrimps I've ever had in any country), Patricia - artist and one of the owners of the hotel - took as for a tour around her orchid garden. and although we had arrived just 10 minutes ago, we immediately felt like home and spontaneously decided to stay in "Miramelindo" for whole two days, the place was just too great to miss.

I should probably add that the main atraction in the town is trout fishing - you are given a simple pole with a hook at the end, you catch your trout (quickly, others are waiting! not that it's a problem, though), and then you turn around and have your trout cleaned and cooked right there on the road by the river, which also happens to be the town's main road. oh, I forgot, there's also Ecuador's most famous waterfall "El Pailón del Diablo" just outside the town.

this photo is about colours, nothing else.

Hi Kristine.
Perfect polychrome shot, nice slash arrangement.
Well done.
Kind regards.
Bobo

Hello Kristine,
Yes, it's all about the colours and they are wonderful. Deep saturated and contrast, i like that. The tilt gives something special to the image, kind of play what i like to...very nice.
Regards, Henk

Hi Kristine,
nice colours and your diagonal approach makes it eyecatching. I also like this kind of rural hotels. Nice, original.
Cheers Christian

Hi Kristine

Must be nice to have a meal in this colorful and quiet place. Is it expensive here?

How long was your trip?

Nice and colorful, Kristine.
VERY eye-catching! The tilt, as also pointed out by Henk, works perfectly well. It adds a special touch to this picture.
Good job!
Have a nice evening, see ya soon.
Fulvio.

hi Kristine
Very nice picture, good light and colours.!
Very good composition..!
Best regards,
asim

Hello Kristine,

What a great scene! The tilt was an inventive way of presenting this shot. To me, the most enjoyable thing is the range of colour; it is almost a kaleidoscope of vibrant tones! The sharpness is good; all objects are clearly presented and are well defined. I like the parrot hiding behind the palm, adds to the tropical feel. The reflection in the window took me a while to see but that looks good also. The frame technique you have used in the past few photos is very attractive; I like the shadowy three dimensional effects! Well done!

Matt

Hi Kristine,
Love it.. This one goes to the top of the list in my favorite gallery.
Amazing eye catching colors and excellent diagonal display.
This picture It's just perfect!
congratulations Kristine.

Hello Kristine,
Did you say trout fishing? I love to catch and to eat trout. That's it. Ecuador is defintely on the agenda. I am going to refer to your travelogue before my wife and I visit this country. Your notes are a wealth of information. You have a knack for tilting the camera. Whenever I try this my photos make people feel seasick. I just love the rich, bold colors of South and Central America. Poople often accuse us of over saturatiing the colors, but they really are this brilliant. Beautiful work!

Hello Kristine ,
A magnificent study of colors with an excellent centring. It is simple and it creates a great photo.
Congratulations
Diane

A very pleasant one.
Great tilt adds dynamism to this static photo and colors add life to it.
It would be nice to seat and drink a cup of coffe here.

Kind regards, Agnieszka

So many ! So many colors and all beautiful. Love the way you took a simple scene and made something so special out of it, the diagonal tilt is a great idea, it makes this terrace even more inviting, nice detail of the umbrellas and the parrot. All so sharp and neat too, the colors on the table are my favorites. Very very good work, Kristine.

Kind regards
Michèle

Colors indeed! Just what we lack during winter in New England. Your tilted shot makes the most of the scene and creates eye-catching drama. Something for me to remember and I thank you for reminding me.
Regards,
Kathy

Hello Kristine,

Hi Kristine,
Risky POV + explosion of colors =coktail of emotions and great creativity.
You show a beautiful and warm place, a simple site and without big pretensions but full of captivation and personality .
The excellent definition of the image and the brightness print much force to the photography.

Kind regards, Jordi

Hi Kristine,

love your all Ecuadorian photos, very colourful, conveying great atmosphere...I really like this tilted POV, makes it even more interesting.

Take care, Ivana

Hi Kristine,

I must not miss this one. I feel this last captures as a beautiful invitation to Baños. Seeing them I completely understand how you felt like home just after entering. This place is full of domestic feelings, with most friendly character and optimistic touch. It feels like a getaway heaven. If going to South America, this is prime destination.

Kind regards and best w-end!

Hi Kristine,
Your photo rerally conveys the warm and welcoming atmosphere that you describe in your interesting & informative note. That is really the way to travel!! Mostly I don't like tilts but this one really is much better than the photo would be wiothout it. Great colors and detail as well.

Hi Kristine, a nice view...so coloured...
Ecuador seems a great place...so coloured....
i like the rflection of the man too..
well done!
ciao!
Valeria

Hello Kristine! I would have stayed too, no doubt. I like these tiny places with family access (unless they come too close, once they forced me to watch TV with them ...). This is truly a happy corner and a pleasant way to start a day with a nice breakfast outside. I like your idea of the diagonal approach adding a fun touch to your breaktfast table. I am hungry :) and I wish someone would shout dinner is ready but I guess it is me and myself preparing a decent meal ... Barbara.

A very colorfull scene. I like the tilted view, which makes it more interesting.
regards Stefano
