wonderfull portrait
Hi Kristaps,
Ah, a very nice background here with a beautiful dof, that's the trick and you really got it here...congrats.
The profile shot is well taken and your framing gives a lot extra to the image. Detail on her clothing is high and i like all the wrinkles on her face but above all her beautiful hat. A very good shot here, i like it.
I worked on mine and stands in the waiting line for Friday. It's a slide, so don't be to hard on me ;-)
Thanks for showing...
Regards, Henk

Hi Kristaps, I hope you had a good weekend. This Lady looks a lot like the one on you "Pride" photo. Nice expression on her face. All the wrinkles for many many years of hard work. Nice contrast of her dark skin with the blue cover.
Good job.
Daniel
Hi Kristaps,
I'm not a portrait person but this one certainly appeals to me. Composition is very good, even if a lower pov at the eye level would perhaps be preferable (not sure though). Background is isolated smoothly, no distraction. One could argue that the blueness is too much (size and saturation) and that it steals the show somewhat. In turn, the hand is visible, which is good. Did you try desaturating and lowering contrast of the blue cloak? I'm also unsure of the focus. It seems to be somewhere in front of the ear but one needs to see it in 100% view to be sure. It's definitely an excellent shot regardless of my minor quibbles. Best wishes,
Hakan

Hi Kristaps,
another one pretty much up Henk's alley!
He likes it, I like it... modesty is my main feature, so : enough to qualify it as a very good portrait. LOL!!!!
Just joking, of course. It's a wonderful portrait.
Great overall detail & perfectly executed.
Cheers,
F.

really nice portrait, I like a lot how the pure and fresh blue of her clothing frames the wrinkled face. I also like the tight crop, it certainly makes the photo feel much more personal, while the nicely blurred background ensures nothing distracts attention from the main subject. excellent work.
best,
K.

Olá Kristaps,
gosto desses retratos com profundidade de campo reduzido, assim a pessoa é sempre o assunto principal da foto e sem interferências! Boa foto mesmo.
Parabéns e Abraço!

Hi Kristaps,
Excellent portrait of this venerable old woman seen in the colorful Andes traditional shawl and Steston hat. She seems to have alot of joy in her eyes and wisdom in her weather worn face. Very clear colors and fine sharpness to this image.

Hi Kris,
Very nice portrait about this old lady. Beautiful with excellent colors and contrasts. Her face's expressions was very well captured. It's an excellent work about this people. Best Regards, Consuelo
Hello Kristaps,
Very nice portrait work! I am finding that I am beginning to like the profile portraits more as I view the Trek Earth photos. Profile portraits don't seem to flatten the faces as much as the more direct ones do. This is superb composition and a great job of capturing this lady on the move. The focusing speed on the D300 is amazing. Her blues shawl is marvelous (we both know that the South and Central American colors really are this bold) and her hat is great. She looks like a character!

Hi Kristaps,
Another classic 'Indian' shot with the jaunty hat and bright shawl. I agree that the color is an important part of the image.

Hi, Kristaps. A very good portrait showing good details on the lady's face. I like her blue shawl here which contrasts very well with her complexion. The DOF is very good which allows the lady to stand out very well against the background.

Hi Kristaps,
What a fabulous portrait this is! Love the side-on view instead of the conventional frontal view. Very nicely done.

Shaeri
A beautiful portrait Kristaps. The bright colors makes her face stand out, and I just love the way you choose your pov from the side and the blurred background. Sharp and crips, the few silvery hairs coming out of her hat...her expression is a world in itself and I like very much that one sees a bit of one hand. Great work, compliments.
