[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These children belong to the small pueblo of San José de Huambaló, a highland community in central Ecuador outside of the town of Pelileo. Huambaló is perhaps best known (at least within the province, if it is known at all) for its small furniture-making industry.

Huambaló also happens to be the community where some very important work was recently done by the CITTI Project (http://citti.blogspot.com)

Last but not least, Huambaló is one of the many areas that has been seriously affected by the recent (August 16) eruption of the nearby volcano Tungurahua. Please wish these two and everyone else there well during what may be difficult times ahead.
