[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The city of Ambato is not known for its green areas, but the Quinta de Juan León Mera (pictured here) is one exception. Mera, a 19th-century writer and painter and author of the national anthem, is one of the ¨three Juans¨ that have made the city famous. His restored country home, which now belongs to the city government, is located on the outskirts of the city along the Ambato River.

This photo was taken on a pleasant December day, and is the second one that I took here in Ecuador, of what are now over 1800 and counting (including a great many that have been erased).
