Photographer’s Note

A village near Ambato located about 140km south of Quito. On our way around the volcano Chimborazo we saw this impressive region. The hills lies like hugh dunes nearly parallel in the landscape. On the top of the hills are little villages and farm houses. On each side of the hills you could see this beautfiful green field.

Splendid view over the imense sequence of hills. The light seems harsh but you did a good job and I like the result even with the white sky. Nice contrast between this hill and the BG.

Hallo Achim!
Was für eine eindrucksvolle und abwechslungsreiche grüne Landschaft! Das ganze Dorf sieht aus wie eine einzige Baustelle und diese einzelnen riesigen Bäume habe fast etwas Gespenstiges. Ein ungewöhnlicher und zeigenswerter Ort ... (im Namen des Vulkans solltest Du das 2. "i" durch ein "o" erstzen ;-)

Hello Achim,
A good capture of this mountain village with the landscape behind stretching towards infinity. I like the contrasts between foreground in sharp focus and the haze covered background.

I find interesting the tall tree with leaves at the top, with thin stems. Does it mean this place has very little strong winds?

A lovely landscape view and it is really cool to live here on this altitude overlooking down the valley but getting up may be tough.

This is a nice overview of this small village. The dirt road leads the through the shot nicely. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. Nice contrast between the foreground and the mountains in the background. Too bad you got a white sky but the shot is still fine.

Aren't you the biggest traveler on TE at this moment? I like this one, the light doesn't seem easy there but did a good job and the little village is very well presented, with good colours and dof!And the landscape around seems endless!

The point of view takes our eyes toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth to the photo. It is aloso allowing us to see thje details and colors of the village. The trees are framing well the village. The colors are enhanced by the quality of the light. Have a nice dya.

Looks very similar to the small villages in the higher slopes of India. Good perspective with the path & the surrounding houses & greens with the light, quite harsh in the BG. Picture of a place, we hardly see pictures of. Well done!

You've composed this very well, Achim, althought it seems to be crying out for a polariser (maybe you had one on but the harsh light was too much for it). I've not seen a lot of shots from this part of Ecuador on TE, so this is very edcuational from that perspective. Cheers . . . David
