Esta fotografía fue tomada el día 2 de Noviembre del 2.008 en el pueblo de Cangagua a pocos kilometros del volcán Cayambe en Ecuador.
Las personas visitan los cementerios para acompañar a sus difuntos, llevan comida y bebidas para compartir con ellos.
Esta tradición esta muy arraigada en nuestro país y en esta fecha los cementerios estan colmados de familias visitando a sus muertos.

Sad, and strong, with that strange beauty that goes with this kind of moment. I could understand enough from your note...the woman and the two kids are poignant and such dignity comes from their profiles. A dark yet contrasted b/w for this scene, the inclusion of that small simple cross in the foreground is excellent as is the view over the cemetery. Bless them...may they find courage and new ways...

Hello Diego, This tradition is not followed in Australia but In Italy they have a feast to remember the dead. Strong & effective scene, very well captured the mood & meaning.

Diego,
this seeems to me like a very important tradition for your people.
The inclusion of the cross and of the mother and her child introduce all the important concepts of this moment.it says a lot!
Very strong portrait emphasized by the mother's dignity, solemnity.
On my screen, the picture appears very dark, but I'm sure it's only my screen...
