Photographer’s Note

I took this picture while we were dining on the roof terrace of one of the restaurant in Quito. I like the texture of the clay tile roofs and the white glass covered gazebo stands out from the tile roof fabric. On this particular photo I surpressed the contrast to emphasize the the lines and textures, not the shades and shadows.

The City of Quito, officially San Francisco de Quito, is the capital of Ecuador in northwestern South America. It is located in north central Ecuador in the Guayllabamba river basin, on the eastern slopes of Pichincha, an active strato-volcano in the Andes mountains. Quito is the second most populous city in Ecuador, after Guayaquil. It is also the seat of the Metropolitan District of Quito. It is also the headquarters of the Union of South American Nations.

Information on Quito was taken from Wikipedia.
