A 'paper tree' on the slopes leading to Iliniza North, the 16 817 foot high northern half of a volcano that blew out the east and west sides of its cone. Altitude at this location was somewhere bewteen 13 000 and 14 000 feet. The tree and vegatation clearly show the effects of downslope winds.
Picture taken during a 'catch my breath break' with a Canon A75 digital camera on automatic settings. |
