[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in a Quechua Indian village in the Ecuadorian Amazon. A 10 hour bus ride from Quito, 3 hours in a truck, a couple of hours in a boat, a couple more hours in a canoe, and a (hot) 3 hour walk through the jungle to get to this little community. It was amazing to walk out of the jungle and into a clearing containing the dozen houses of a self contained and isolated village.
To communicate we had to take an interpreter as although we had a (small) smattering of Spanish, these people did not, Quechua being their primary language. The kids were fascinated by our presence and at at every turn there was usually someone shyly watching us.
I'm hard pressed to think of a more welcoming group of people anywhere!!!

'Eat yout heart out', those kids can really knows how to pose in front of the camera. They 100% steal the shows in Paris.
Hi Karina....very well captured shot. So nice to see those happy faces. Somehow, this reminded me during my childhood in Malaysia - the greenery and the wooden houses.
Thanks for sharing.

I agree, they are super models, so naturally they take this opportunity. First reaction for me was, that why you didn`t zoom closer, but now you show hole play area and those living conditions on background - so, I stepped back to crop it. It is good as it is - very good.

The Quechuan Triad
Each with his/her own original pose gives this photo it's impact. The very unspoiled setting is supported well by your story (just knowing that there is not a Coca-Cola bottling plant just to the left is a great. The triangular positioning of the threesome also gives the image a lot of stability - and leads the eye toward the top to place them in their environment. This is one of your strongest shots I've seen so far!

Perfect picture - simple, natural, exotic, funny, beautiful, flawless in all technical aspects (just maybe a little bit more up, lower angle and more of upper background), and joyful.
You discovered for me a new amazing phenomenon: how well dressed and clean these kids can be, far away from the civilisation, which is not a case with children in slums and various ghettos across the "western" world. Why? (Rhetoric question, I don’t expect a quick answer.)
Thank you, Karina.

I really like the saturation in the greens. Also, good job of framing the three kids in a different way so that they weren't standing in the typical pose.

Must have been a very interesting place to visit. I also like that you can see how they are living ( houses ). Well done...

What a pristine place, the green is so green and the chidren as fresh as anywhere...very nice placement of the children around the field of view. The background looks like paradise!

I like this image, esecially because of the way the girl in the foregroud is standing up. I also like the position of the 3 kids.. I am bothered a bit by the way it's too central.
I just posted a WS, a crop only...

Really nice. The shot represents exactly the sensation you talk about in your note. Both very useful, anyway.
