[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This fellow is a white fronted capuchin monkey, his name is Bjôrn, which means "bear" in Danish. He is 8 years old and lives very close to the animal rehabilitation center AmaZOONico where I am working.
He lives at a place called "MachinAlpa". He lives in complete freedom together with a group of adult capuchins and their offspring, they are about 25 monkeys in the group.
Björn is the next alpha male, he's ready to take over when the big old Eric dies or leaves the group - Björn is COOL!

By the way let me tell you how i lost sensation in my right thumb; I was living at MachinAlpa for a couple of months, and I had some trouble with the alpha female "Pelusa", I was often fighting her, but never really serious, untill one day when she went completely nuts and attacked me from everywhere, she bit in just about every part of my body, but the worst bite was in my thumb, she cut some nerves and I still cannot feel it, bummer!
The worst thing is, after I lost my thumb to her she went and died, that really bothered me...

Anyway enjoy funny Björn, another one of the shots I managed to save from my ruined rolls.

I thought you couldn't repair your rolls but it not so. Nice close pup of the capuchine monkey: I see sadness in its eyes. Good textures.

wow, is this the saddest face of all monkeys? I like the soft focus and the crop, well done

well if you wanted to take such an upclose portrait of him, i think having a human hnad in this portrait would have helped, since this is a rehabilitation centre.
i think you should try and add as many elements as possible in a photograph to tell the story.
telling a story becomes easy with a contextual portrait, however ( i'm guessin) you wanted a close portrait, i think a human hand somewhere would have helped.

hey!!!1 by the way do you realise that your not being able to feel your thumb is a little serious???? i hope you're getting is checked up. also....... phew!!!! why do you have to fight with the monkeys over bananas ????? hahaha

take care line

p.s. what film did you use?

First your film, now your thumb (actually I suppose the other way around). This trip of yours is sounding like a list of catastrophies. At least you got this excellent animal portrait to show for it. What's the prognosis on the thumb, cutting the nerve sounds rather rash.

Hi Line, Such sad eyes...

So your back again for a while, nice close-up here from your little friend, good work.

Love your note, and hope that you get your thumb back some day (I mean awareness of it). This is a great animal portrait, again in large part due to the close cropping and eyes that show that something is in there trying to communicate something.
