| This picture was taken on Isla de la Plata, off the coast of Ecuador. We were hiking around the island, and were able to get very close to the birds. This is a masked boobie, which is a bird that is found mainly on this island + in the Galapagos. |

This one takes me back ,o) I've visited the Galapagos islands once, and I'm going back there in about two months to visit a friend - This is agreat portrait of a masked boobie, soemhow while I was there they sort of reminded me of common ducks, probably because there are so many of them in the islands, and that they seem to spend more time walking than actually flying. thanks for this beautiful shot ;o)
