In the background - one of the boats that travel around the Galapagos, passing thru the waters of Gardner Bay, in Espanola Island.

It was a foggy and cool morning. The weather in the Galapagos is often quite strange (fog, mist) and it can change a lot during the day.

I used a high contrast auto-enhance to eliminate the fog over the sea, and to darken the seals, so as to get kind of silhouettes.

Good composition. Great idea (emphasized by the title).
Lovely contrast between the dark seals and light sea.

I love the contrast of the dark seals against the sand. It's a shame the sky and boat are blurred/ grainy. The horizon doesn't look straight to me...but when I put a straight line against it, it doesn't seem off... weird. :) My eyes obviously. I only wish I could see more details on the seals

Hello Daniel,
I like the composition a lot. Nice gradient colours with golden sand contrasting the seals. Indeed the picture quality is not that good, but the composition gets first here. Very good choice for the frame too.
Regards,
L.

Hi daniel,
There is a loss of details in the animals. But the composition is excellent. the dof and perspective is just great.
Wonderfully visualised shot.
Regards.

Hi Daniel,
There is a good contrast between the natural and wild life that offer us these seals and the ship sailing in background. The fog and the tones of the sea and of the sky give a mysterious aspect to the image, and do a very interesting and attractive composition.
Good work in the pp.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi Daniel
Lavely animals in a beautiful poses. Nice colours and the boat in the foggy background.

Good perspective!
Excellent done!

wow...if i ever adore seascapes this must be something like this...unexpected inhabitants of the virgin land and the visiting "beast" from civilisation went really quite well...
i do like that hazy sea area verus plain foreground...

Hi Daniel, good and unusual view from a not common destination!
good colours, good composition and POV.
thanks, ciao

Hi Daniel,
Special light with horizon disappearing into fog and foreground still looking quite luminous. Maybe you went a bit far with the silhouette effect with the nearest seal.
Kari

Hi Daniel,
Good composition and POV. I liked the colors, contrast and the DOF. TFS

Hi,Daniel!
Great shot!Wonderful idea and superb composition and colours!
Regards!

I think you may have overdone the contrast a bit here Daniel, the right hand seal especially has gone a bit too dark. As long as their eyes and whiskers were visible the dark effect would have worked well, maybe you could have applied it more selectively.
Other than that, this shot has worked very well. I like the softness of the background, which works well with the subtle colouration of the image.

Cheers,
Ben

Hi Daniel, well technically for sure you did some arrangments in PP giving this strange look sky, grains and unreal aspect. But the mood this picture vehiculate is awesome, from such a remote and dreaming place, Galapagos, wow the result is really excellent ! I do love that kind of shot even if there are perhaps a little bit far from reality but i'm far from reality ;)
Excellent

géniale, cette prise ! Deux mondes, celui des anilmaux, et celui des hommes... Joli contraste.
Marie

Nice color, i just wish I could see abit more detail on either seal--------------yes, nice capture----

A very special and beautiful mood I like this very much...
technically not so good on the water and sky, and tilted:-). But those splendid seals, the way they are close, they hold theselves, so dark against the background makes for a very good picture. I am sure you could do some PP to makes this better, it's certainly worth it!
