[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Swallow-tailed Gull photographed shortly after dawn on North Seymour Island in the Galapagos Islands.

The Swallow-tailed Gull is often called the world's only nocturnal gull. It feeds mainly, although not exclusively, at night - heading out to sea at dusk in search of a nice, fishy meal - and is certainly the most nocturnal of the world's 51 gull species.

Apart from a small colony in Colombia, this striking bird is endemic to the Galapagos Islands.

Regards,

Rich
