Hello Kristaps,
Personnally, I really like the light of that portrait.
Very expressive face
I also like the POV and the green/yellow at the foreground and blue/white at the background: very colourful image together with Jefe's clothes.

Olá / Hi Kristaps,
What portrait.... superb smile, good close up.. I like a lot. Beautiful light and colours. Very good job
Well done.

Hi Kristaps,
A great pose but even more greater by your low pov. i like his smile and the way his sits on the grass with one feet down (nice boots).
His red poncho is making full contrast against that blue sky...this is just perfect, makes the whole image really pops out of the screen.

I agree with Henk that the low point of view makes all the difference - I like a lot how it lets you place the bright sky as a background, I find it emphasises the colour contrast even more. love his expression, great mixture of wisdom and humor with a touch of shrewdness. excellent shot.
best,
K.

Hi, Kristaps. A very nice smile indeed. Your low POV places the shepherd in a nice position against the sky. I think he was very proud to be photographed and you can read that on his face.
I'll grasp the opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year.

Hi Kristaps,
I see that you have a new machine! This portrait is a lovely one. I really like his smile and pose. The capture is technically perfect with good saturation and sharpness. The textures of his clothe and skin are there thanks to that. Very successful image. Well done!
Regards,
Carlos
PS: congrats for your new acquisition!
Hello Kristaps,
I agree with all that's been said. The low pov works very well, composition is as good as it gets, and his warm smile is wonderful. I thought of fill-flash for the face, but not really sure. Regards,
Hakan

Hi Kristaps,
Excellent portrait of this charming sheep herder with such a warm smile on his weathered face. His colorful poncho contrast nicely with the lovely blue sky. Very clear crisp colors and excellent skin tones to this fine portrait.

Hello Kristaps,
A beautifully composed portrait of this kindly gentleman. A first-rate "environmental portrait". Beautiful sky and excellent placement of him in his native vegetation. The colors and layered effect of his coat are also very impressive. I have one small suggestion to make, and hopefully it won't create an uproar of controversy (a Trek Earth speciality) Some photographers consider fill-flash to be passe, but I don't agree with this concept at all (my "humble and unbiased" opinion). Fill-flash would have helped you out here a bit. This is tough backlighting and fill-flash would have balanced out the exposure on this man to more closely match the sky. You wouldn't have needed much fill, just enough to lighten up his face and his clothing. You can lighten the shadows in Photoshop but I still consider fill-flash to be an easier and better alternative. This is a minor point. I consider your photo to be an exceptional portrait!

Dear Kristaps,
I cannot figure out how I missed this one. Well it's not too late to tell you all the good I think of it. An outstanding portrait, with a connection between the both of you that I love. Also the low POV brings out this man's posture in a beautiful environment. Superb range of colors. I've read with interest the suggestions on flash/fill flash, of which I know nothing about:-). Excellent work, my compliments!
Take care
