Wow! I Prefer To Return To Water...!
Coveñas - Department Sucre
.......................................................
TrekEarth Dear friends, a photo is not of my own style, a rarity that reached me by chance. Cannon in my hand, I did not want to miss the opportunity to highlight a composition like this.
Touring the beautiful Caribbean coast in the Atlantic, off the warm waters from the Gulf of Morrosquillo, the quiet waves bring this issue, perhaps by some inert blow against the rocks.
However, because I feel their expression of terror, astonishment and despair, as if to say that has nothing to do in the area. "Let me return to the sea, then come here and I wanted to die".
MACRO experiment with the camera, I wanted to supplement the composition with a seabed blurred, but soothing tones.
I hope with gratitude comments.
Amicably, John

Saludos.

A rather unique and - I must say - quite dramatic approach to the theme...!
It's a good shot, John.
Worthy to share it with those who care.

Hi John, I like your creativity on this photo. That catfish's gaping mouth and the wide open eye projects well to the viewer making it very evocative. The composition superbly created. TFS, Alex

Hi John,
a palatable rarity that reached you!
I am sure that you finally helped the fish to return to water just after shooting.
The exposure and the focus are excellent! The frame is also terrific!
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
Athanasios.

Hello, John,
this is one of the most astonishing shots I've ever seen. The POV and the expression on the fish's face is just...extraordinary. Outstanding light and contrast, incredible detail and excellent bokeh. Then you add the perfect title to it. Just flat amazing. I think it's outrageously cool! Great job!! Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly

Hi John,
An original macro of this fish surely not in its habitat!
But in a lovely composition with all the details required!
Nice surroundings that go with the subject if it were alive!
Well done,

Hello John.
A quite astounding shot, most unusual not only for you but also TE. Your very low viewpoint makes the gasping fish seem much larger than it is. The large aperture only emphasises the sharpness of detail, but leaves the background clear enough to establish the setting. I wonder if the fish made its way back into the sea. Anyway, superb and original shot, a good departure from your typical style.

Andrew

Hello John,
yes, it really is unique, dramatic and outrageous moment!
Very expressive (especially from this POV). I am more concerned about the emotions which this photo conveys rather than by technical qualities. This is one of the best photos I have ever seen!
I wonder what you did with this fish?.. after the shot...
Best regards,
Elena

Buena idea, y buen trabajo.
Un abrazo,
Josep

Impressive shot, John. There's a strangeness to it, which I like, not only the open beak, but also the pov (hiding the back of the fish) contributes to this. Great dof and composition (with that blurred tree in the background).

Hi John,
The sharpness applied expertly on the fish's mouth is truly remarkable. It looks to exist actually in the screen. Bokeh of the background is also so exquisite. Superb work truly!

Bonjour, John.

I have an extremely irrational fear of dead fish and this picture just makes me shiver. Excellent POV and a wonderful back drop for a dieing fish. Yuck, but a great picture.

Hi John,
A strange but none the less effective presentation. I like the focus of the shot and the DOF is perfect for the photo providing just enough information for us to have an idea of the place. I wonder if you could have positioned the fish slightly more to one side and given us more of the blurred background for a stronger effect rather than dead centre. Nice photo though, I've not seen too many on this subject strangely enough! :)
All the best

Hola John . . . . . :
oceánica, pienso que has
conseguido un
excelente macro/pez, felicidades.
Saludos desde la Península Ibérica.

Hello John,
What a heart-rending image! The composition, with the balancing tree, is perfect but it is the pink-grey-blue palette that is really superb.
I really appreciated your critique. Thanks so much -- it gave me a lot to think about.

Hello John,
Hehehehe...!
Kind of fun too but sad for the fish...
A fine close-up with good details, DoF spot on isolates the fish very well in an attractive composition!
