Photographer’s Note
Palermo (Huila) - Colombian capital of the marble
....................................................
In the Department of Huila, this municipality is located, in which the mountain landscape drew my attention a lot, apart from the friendliness of its people.
Founded on January 7 of 1774.
Palermo today, yesterday Guagua, former Territory Paez.
The origin of the Cannon Guagua allegedly took place in the year 1632 by the Graduate Trivino Francisco de Sotomayor, in the plain of the Nile, finance Tune; this province was formed by large livestock farms which were awarded by the Spanish government, to those who collaborated in his misnamed conquest, which usually were iberian, who met mestizos and creoles as slaves, terrazgueros or simple workers, the indigenous population was expelled and brought by the spaniards.
The municipality presents temperatures ranging between 15 degrees Celsius in areas of ridges and 27 º C to low-lying areas which corresponds to the valleys of the Magdalena River. The urban area presents an average temperature of 26.2 º C
The municipality presents landscapes in order of importance and descending in mountains, foothills, rolling hills and valleys, with climates that are in the same way: cold and wet, medium and wet, dry and very warm dry. Determined in each of the close relationship between climate, range and degree of slope erosion
Palermo is framed within two major domains geomorfo structural nature of mountains belonging to the regional: central at its eastern flank and the eastern mountain range in its western flank, the latter is separated by tectonic depression belonging to the Magdalena River valley. Taken together make up the different types of landscapes and highlights that give the current physiognomy to the municipality.
The primary sector of the economy is understood by the extraction of hydrocarbons, limestone, gold, receberas, construction materials, agricultural and livestock production.

Hola John,
