Tranquility

Dam of Bethany, located in the Department of Huila, is a large reservoir built at the mouth of the Yaguará River in the Magdalena River, in the municipalities of Campoalegre, Hobo and Yaguará (Colombia).

The dam is 30 km south of Neiva. It has several purposes: electric power generation, control the flow of the Magdalena River for irrigation and land for farming.

It covers an area of 70 square km. Its total volume is 1.971 million cubic meters with installed capacity of 540 Mega Watts.

The dam is also a tourist attraction in the Department as it conducts the annual Water Festival.

Dam received the rubble of the eruption of the Nevado del Huila killing large numbers of fish that inhabit the dam.

To make this shot, I had the need to climb the highest point (mast) of a ferry, which travels recreational every sunday throughout the reservoir.

The right title for the right image with it's calm and peace!
the pov is good with nice depth, perfect exposure and focus with great details! I especially loved the soft lighting across the reservoir!

El título es muy bien escogido para acompanar tu composición por que da verdad, es el sentimiento que nos da inmediatamente.
Se puede ver una línea sobre el agua, abajo. Qué es? Una separación o la línea de un pescador?

Good pov to show broad river with large capacity of water there are important for local residents to obtain electricity supply and source of fishes for meal. Thanks for sharing shooting experience on the ferry.

Hi John,
A wonderful view over the river from a great, high POV. The soft light is really pleasant and helps, along with the calm water, to create a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Good composition too with the inclusion of the trees on the right hand side. Very good photo work!

yes..very peaceful and very calm. Really a tranquil here. Nice calm water with lovely green as its border.
superbs blue sky...water, earth and trees are good combination to render tranquility.
