Freshness in the Desert

Within an hour journey by motorcycle-taxi to the fascinating Desert of the Tatacoa, stopped the vehicle to start a walk of about 30 minutes.

Amid cliffs, sandy flats and full of stones, under a strong sun, feeling the heat from the soil and atmosphere, but amazed to observe the shapes and details that gave me the geographical landscape.

In the distance I heard a racket. Voices young and strong, interrupted the silence that until that moment felt.

The companion guide, having my face in surprise, rightly said: "we are coming to the pool"

Does the pool?

It seemed incredible that a site so dry, so hot and turned into desert by the millennial passage of time, eroded by the wind, could have a cooling zone.

And yes. There he was. Amid the high cliffs, water gushing from the depths, something hot, but pleasant enough to live and enjoy the moment, as they did these crazy guys from the capital and secondary students.

I liked a lot this scenario. Something wonderful nature; also hope will be their complete satisfaction

Hi John,

This is indeed a surprise to find in such a place! I would be delighted though after walking so much to dip myself in this fresh water. Nice picture my friend and very well executed. The colours are excellent and is so sharp that I can even see the water being splashed by the people. Buen trabajo John :-)

What a fantastic image of this amazing landscape......and the pool full of excited children adds a lovely, carefree mood to the shot. It's wonderful that children can enjoy themselves wherever they are in the world, and amongst some of the harshest environments. Nicely captured.

Esta imagen es tanto sorprendente que sin tu nota, se podría creer a un montaje. El contraste es total entre el paisaje arride y atormentado y este puerto de paz y frescura acuática. Excelente imagen.

Me encanta esta foto Jhon , aunque me encantaria mas poder hacer lo mismo que hace esa gente , debe ser estupendo en medio del desierto encontrar sitios como este .Buena captura , excelente composicion , texturas y una alta definicion .

esta foto es única! cuando se ve
tremenda piscina tan provocativa en
medio de un desierto? Es mas, yo ni sabía
que existiera esa opción... pero ya sabemos
que en Colombia no hay limite para ingeniarnos
todo lo que tenga que ver con entretenimiento.
Cuando vaya a Colombia, voy a tener que quedarme
un buen tiempo para recorrerme el país y disfrutar de las maravillas

Realmente é um local um pouco invulgar. A composição está óptima. Gosto de ver aquela piscina cheia de gente e cercada por rochas. O homem em primeiro plano sentado a olhar ficou excelente!

Esta si, se parece más a un "verdadero" deserto yes realmente sorprendente encontrar esa pequeña piscina en tal lugar. Me gusta mucho el contraste de las formas, colores y "humedad" entre la piscina y el entorno. La perspectiva y el encuadramiento son magníficos.
