Freshly taken 2 days ago, Guatapé is a small quaint and colorful town 2 hours away from one of Colombia's biggest city, Medellín.
ON TAKING THE IMAGE:
I want to seriously thank Sergio (sacimar) cause without his photos I wouldn't able to learn about this beautiful town. I was first captivated by his photos then years forward, today, I myself was on this place, taking photographs. The moment was surreal and unbelievable, a TE destination dream come true.
The picturesque town of Guatapé is known as the Pueblo de Zócalos, named for the beautifully sculpted and painted depictions of village life that adorn the lower half of most buildings in the town center. On weekends, the waterfront malecón (boardwalk) fills up with local vendors selling beautiful Paisa art, food, and souvenirs, and the adventurous can take a ride on the Cable Vuelo, a canopy zipline over the lake. Popular boat tours visit the former site of Viejo Peñol, a town which was submerged by the creation of the reservoir, which is now marked by a giant memorial cross.

great to see you taking some time out of your day to stop by :)
Living here in Canada, we only hear about the bad things when it comes to Columbia. How unsafe it can be for travelers. What was your experience like? but i guess you're smart enough to stay away from those bad areas right?
lovely shot, full of life - even without people - because of the lively colors and decorations.
very cool indeed

Amazing scene!! Beautiful houses, so colorful. Love the little path, lead us to the houses further. The green wall and blue door it's very eye catching.
It reminds me of the city of Cartagena, I was in Colombia for 2 months, but I chose the east part before heading to the Carribean.
Me encanta Colombia, mi pais favorita en del mundo.
I'll keep an eye on your post for more photos from Colombia :-)

Hello i9l2y1m8a8t3 (Matt Le Blanc)!
Thank for your “Colors of Guatapé (to sacimar)” a very impressive image (captured on a bright sunny day) showing row of tiled houses distinctly painted with warm colors and the by-lane proceeding downwards.
The angle is perfect and composition is excellent with full of colors. The contrast and sharpness are impressive.
Thanks for sharing!
Have a great day!

These colourful facades are a feast for the eyes and a real treat for the photographer. Very good use of the downward perspective and the eye-catching red flowers to lead the eye into the cobblestone street. The sunlight makes the colours even brighter and so cheerful-looking. Good depth of field with nice details. A very attractive picture.

Wow, the residents of these houses really enjoy to decorate their facades in a very cheerful way.
I'd think that there live only really happy people.
What a colour feast!
Best regards, Paul

I like this downhill view, giving us a view of not only these colorful facades, but also their roofs. I like all the hanging flowerpots and the cobblestone road. This is a very charming street, but it must get tiring walking up and down this slope every day! :-)

colori vivaci su questa strada, una discesa molto scenografica, fiori e disegni originali.

Great POV with beautiful bright colors leading the way here, Matt. The flowerpots create a really nice line as well, on both sides. Nicely done!

Cette rue colorée de ce village bolivien est incroyablement belle. Même si l'image semble curieusement manquer un peu de netteté, j'aime ta composition et la lumière qui ravive les couleurs de très belle façon.Merci de me faire découvrir ce bel endroit.

they certainly like to keep the facades nice and bright in Guatape judging by this cracking shot.
The hanging baskets add even more colour to a most attractive location.
All the best,

Impressionante cette rue pleine de charme et pleine de couleur.
Magnifique composition. Manque peut-être juste une présence humaine la haut milieu
