Mudejar Tower
-------------
It is the most important monument of mudejarismo late in the New Grenada.

It consists of four bodies decorated with brick cut in the form of trapeze, forming geometric designs, which resemble oriental carpets, the dome is covered in tiles enameled crowned with a red watermark iron is 23 meters high.

History tells us that this was a bell tower that resonated with 10 kms to the table, to call the religious services, but was damaged by a friar, was sent to melt to make it again but never was able to recover with the ringing original.

The tower is one of the Mudejar buildings that have more legends, it seems that this work was an architect Moor who came to America fleeing from the spanish authorities, is refuge in the convent of San Francisco in exchange for this commitment to build the tower currently know.

Of the sites of Cali, the Mudejar Tower is perhaps the most admired by visitors, precisely because they are the best in South America in his style. Tower Mudejar part of the chapel of the Immaculate, adjacent to the temple in San Francisco, another of the architectural relics of the inhabitants of Cali.

Faced with the two monuments extends the new Plaza de San Francisco or Civic Plaza, Departmental Composed of the Palace, through which business and administrative.

Another point of view that can be seen from this scenario, plus the full story, you can see in this picture that I published some time ago:

Hola John,
