Photographer’s Note

The House of the Viceroy, of whose history I make reference in this connection... http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/South_America/Colombia/photo549265.htm..., constitutes one of the most valuable examples of the Spanish domestic architecture of century XVIII, that is to say, at the moment it counts with more than 200 years of antiquity.

It illustrates with success the years of the “graphical scenic enthusiasm” in Spanish America. It is recognized for the first time by this time from the arrival of the spaniards, the public space as a place in himself and is attended one “gradual insight" of the architecture.

The house has two plants on the main facade, letting show on the street two balconies that show, like the doors and windows an extraordinary wood work. It is constructed in its totality in stone and cut brick forming pillars, columns, capitals, carnizas and moldings decorated, or “rather recreational”.

Called the attention the influence mozárabe in the joint of the vestibule and the three courtyards that are conforming an broken directive that eliminates axes and enriches the route. The main courtyard is surrounded by ample runners and inner balconies.

The photo shows to the lateral aspect of a courtyard, giving continuity through a central access, to a second courtyard, visualized in the subsequent plane.

I hope is to the the liking of you.
