Hi John,
very expressive composition. I especially like the soft colors which gets very well together. There is a peaceful ambiance in your picure... that's nice ! I also like the reflection. But what I like most is this lonely tree which seems dominate the landscape. Thank you for this marvellous picture. I'm amazed that you haven't more points because this composition is really a good one and expresses a lot of things like tranquillity, peace, meditation, nature,...

The composition might be simple, but it's one I like. Like I wrote in an earlier critic to you, this one is neat and pretty ordered, but not quite as much as you think. The tree is a perfect disorder and a nicely placed one. The shore is chaos, this shouldn't be from an engineering point of view, but it does.
Well found and well composed. The sky works in your favour as well here.

Hello, John--
Great work here, you isolated the tree well, and then did well to cause the two lines of the hill to lead into it. The light worked well for you, casting a shadow that emphasized the lines of the hill leading into the tree, and also revealing detail in the topography of the hill. The reflection is a nice touch, also, and nicely balanced.

There is something so lovely and peaceful in this composition. I love all the curves of green, the blue of the sky, even the too bright area of the sky is placed perfectly behind the tree with it's shadow falling below. Excellent work, well done.

Magnífica -y poética- foto. El árbol solitario está, sin embargo, muy bien acompañado por esta luz, por su reflejo en el río y por esta ondulada ladera cubierta con una capa de hierba tan bien capturada que parece irreal (por lo real que es). Me gusta mucho, tiene mucha fuerza de expresión: el árbol parece reinar sobre todo, o desafiarlo aunque sin el conjunto no sería nada, ni siquiera nos fijaríamos en él. Beautiful photo with this minimalistic look. Love the textures of the hill, the diagonal and the contrast between the colours of the ground and the sky. This lonely tree and its shadow fits perfectly on this nautral photo.

Hi John,

really neatly cut grass...could be a golf course;-)...i think i would try to make this capture of stand alone tree even simplier and try to totally crop the muddy river out of this rural scene...the flat water surface does not match really well with the easy going green hill which is the highlight of this image for me...but then the three colour layers look very nice combined together despite the harsh light...waiting for more of Colombia from you...cheers, arturo
