Superb astrophoto Carlos! I am an astronomy buff, and I know how hard it is to get a shot like this. The sharpness on the lunar surface is fantastic! Together with Venus, just a beautiful shot. Thanks for sharing this one, and put it on a wall, and frame it. Congrats my friend! Best, Sam

This is amazing! I can almost feel what the surface of the moon is like, the detail is so sharp. Incredible black around that brings out the bright moon and Venus in the background. Good with them both off-center.

is this a real photo? venus seems to be way too large. I checked with the naval observetory site Naval Observetory which makes synthetic images. I used 2006-11-02 as the date. It gives the size of the moon as 1970.9" and venus as 9.7", a ratio of 203 to 1. I saved the above image and used photoshop to roughly measure the ratio of the size of venus and the moon. it turns out to be 14, a long distance from 203. hence it seems that venus is too large in this photo.

Another concern is how dark the sky is. Venus doesn't get far from the sun so i'm a bit surprised about how dark the sky is.

finally according to the space.com site venus isn't visible now and won't be until december so i'm not sure how this shot was taken on nov 2

Hopefully i'm missing something here but i can't see what. sorry to be a bother.

this is so beautiful .. the crisp detail of your moon against the clouds of venus are just an amazing contrast.
