Cupolas of the Church Cathedral Our Lady of the Poverty
Pereira, capital of the Department of Risaralda, is relatively a compared young city with many, since she were founded the 30 of August of 1,863, and is located in the gold triangle, conformed by Santa Fe de Bogota, Medellín and Cali.
From always the man it has felt the necessity to establish his own importance and this has motivated it to generate a series of divinities, rituals and spaces. The construction of own enclosures for the adoration is so remote in the history of the man, like the necessity to construct houses.
In the photo the main cupola of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Poverty is appraised, whose foundation goes back to the same foundation of the city, when Remigio father Antonio Cañarte, in a small chapel, celebrated the first mass. Single until year 1,890, the construction in the estate begins that occupies at the moment.
The main walls had already risen in marinates, when in January of 1,906 an earthquake destroyed the temple and the parochial church. The necessity appeared to return it to reconstruct through many years, with the participation of several religious communities that alternated the administration of this work.
The construction of the church is within the framework of the history of the architecture of Colombia in which it is known like republican architecture, that is not but that the national version and a little delayed the neoclasicismo and eclecticism that dominated to Europe from mid century XVIII and end of century XIX.

Hola John,
buena foto de arquitectura. El plano contrapicado destaca con elegancia las tres torres de la Catedral con sus cúpulas plateadas, que se recortan sobre un cielo azul y muy bonito.
Buena iluminación y contraste, con colores bien saturados.
Buen trabajo.
Un saludo,
Josep

Hy John,
I was attracted by your picture because it reminds me one I post a few weeks ago (a very different place, in Paris, but I chose the same point of view).
Mine was full of noise but yours is very nice and sharp.
TFS.
Best wishes,
Marianne
