Photographer’s Note

Another shot from the street outside the market place where these guys battle for space with cars, taxis and buses. At first they were suspicious that I was from the Mayor's office and taking photos to collect evidence to move them off the street, but I managed to convince them that I just wanted to show other people a slice of life in Colombia. It helps when you have a digital camera and can show them exactly what you have photographed - but they usually end up asking for copies!

Nice shot, but I would prefer to be a little closer to the action. Right now, all I'm seeing are bananas. If the two men who were selling them were more prominent in the image, the result would have worked better, I think. This is a cool street shot, but getting closer would make it even cooler.
