this is how people see the old ones... we allways think that those who are more than 70 years (aproximated) are like the plant in this image... solitary.. the dont affect any one in any form, and we only put them in places where they cant do anything... just look at the window, or being attended by others, but they dont have freedom... look at this picture and make an image... this old man have been there for a while, and if he moves, every one tryes to put him there again... alone... THAT IS NOT LIFE!...
I hope to recieve comments.... thanks to all..

I like your use of cool blue-green tones for this, Santiago--it fits the stark and lonely mood very well. Excellent composition, suggesting the emptiness outside, from the perspective of those who can't take advantage of it.

I think what you say about the elderly may be true for some who live in institutions, but certainly not for most of those who are still on their own. Nonetheless it is a tragedy for those who are abandoned into empty lives.

Regards, Ken.

Hi Santiago,

before I clicked the thumbnail, I thought we couldnīt learn much from this photo.
But now I think you are right; and this photo is very meaningful and tells us a lot about people.
The composition and the colors are fine, even though the window is a bit to white and bright for my taste.

Hi Santiago
Some might say that photos like this fall outside the scope of Trekearth - after all, it's not a landscape, or a festival, or a backstreet.
But I think it does teach me something about the world, well, me anyway.
It shows that everyone has artisitic ability, and a good eye, as yours is, exists all over the place.
To me, this looks like office space, not that different from my office really, the lone tree the boss's only concession to real life or the outside world in a sterile workplace.
Anyway, great composition, fantastic use of overexposure.
Muy bien!
Cheers
