he building has had quite a tragic history, in 1948 it was burnt down by a mob during El bogotazo, then in 1985 it was almost destroyed when it was taken by the guerrillas for a 28 hour period. The building will eventually house four of the highest judicial bodies: the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court, the State Council and the Judiciary Higher Council
