Photographer’s Note
this is a photo of Cathedral of San Nicholas in rionegro. The history of Rionegro is bound to history of Antioquia, and in good part to the one of the whole country. This is land of bishops and thinkers. Rionegro is the cradle of one of more important groups of soldiers who went to the south of the country to fight with general Nariño and where Jose Maria Córdova had his headquarters. During second half of century XX, Rionegro began to be an important industrial center where the manufacture of textiles and shoes replaced the agriculture and cattle ranch that were the base of the economy in the region. With the arrival of the industry on great scale the town began to transform. Nowadays the main seat is surrounded by buildings of three and four floors, and in addition to the Cathedral of San Nicholas that was finished constructing in 1804, in the park survive single some houses that count the past historical of Rionegro, like the House of the Arsenal, where the Wise person Calda fused the arms for I exercise of the independence war, and that today is a notary's office.

Hola Gerardo.
