Photographer’s Note
Typical housing for the poor of Medellin, Colombia. Each house is practically stacked on top of one another. This is actually a nicer looking section than other parts. Many do not have water, electricity, air conditioning, heat, cars, etc. Some of the women work as maids in the "richer" high rises. The high rise apartments can be easily viewed from this area, but are very far to travel too, especially without any form of transportation.
Again, my friend, who is a citizen of Medellin informed me of this area while I was visiting, if this information was told to me incorrectly, my apologies.

Liz,
a good documentary shot of the poor colombian people's living condition. No wonder that the escape is to deal with drugs. A very similar picture and reality in the great brazilian cities like Rio and Sao Paulo in which I lived long enough to know them extremely well.
From the technical part of this shot is to be said that the composition is good and the tight framing focusing solely on those houses is great. To use the tree in the foreground was good. That gives a good feeling for depth. What couldbe improved is the sharpness and softness of the image.
Are you actually from Colombia?
Regards, Peter
