[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I went to Santiago de Chile in April this year. Every time that I have to fly over the Cordillera de los Andes I have an overwhelming sensation. It is so amazing, so huge that is not possible to ignore, you get a sense of admiration, and at the same time it is frightening to fly over these peaks.
In some points Cordillera de los Andes has peaks over 6,000 meters height.
I have to mention that Chile is located over the Nazca plaque, and due to this it is highly unstable with sismic activity frequently. In 1906 a big earthquake destroyed Valparaiso city and affected severely Santiago city, killing more than 3.000 people, and leaving more than 100.000 homeless.
I took many pictures while we were flying over the Cordillera, while we were descending to Santiago, and I made only a few changes in contrast, level and saturation.
It was not so easy to get a good picture up in the plane, I had to fight a lot with my window pane to avoid undesirable reflections of myself in the picture (to make it worse, I was wearing a striped t-shirt on that day that was not so easy to hide).
Hope to travel to Chile again soon.
Have a nice day!

Cesar, this is a breath-taking pic from your plane! Love how there are so many mountains! Are these considered multiple mountain ranges or is it just one? Your note is very useful too! Excellent pic and glad to see that your many attempts on the plane have paid off well.

Very nice sky pictures.

really good picture, and it is true it is difficult to take one from the plane!! thanks for sharing

Cesar, sharply taken and colorful. I like the snow and the sky, they look very natural.
The blue color is great.
