Photographer’s Note
In the very core of a volcanic belt, some 4200m above sea level lies one of the largest silver deposits in the world (La Coipa). Because of the high altitude, miners stay here for about three weeks before returning one week home to rest at sea level.
The rich colour tones are due to alteration patterns which are typical of such silver-gold deposits. The permanent ballet of trucks and loaders shaped the landscape into fascinating curves and heaps.
This picture is dedicated to all miners who, respectfully of the environment, contribute to our welfare.

Bonjour Eric,
Daniel.
