Despite the title, I am not sure if this animal is male or female but I think it is a male waiting his couple. Unfortunately it was so far and cause the zoom and cold strong winds my hands couldn't do a better job. I think sharpness is poor, anyway I think it is a good image to show the place where they build their nests.
Seno Otway is one of the many bays in southern-Patagonia. In that region we can visit 2 penguin's colonies, one of them is located inside Isla Magdalena (in the middle of Strait of Magellan), the other is in Seno Otway, located in Brunswick Peninsula. These places are not so far from Punta Arenas city. This especie of penguin live in the southern-seashore of Brazil and they go to that region to have their sons. The first to arrive is the male, that build or rebuild the nest and wait for the female. There are narrow ways for tourist and the place is protect cause we can't to disturb the coples. When I went there I thought their nests were in the beach but they build their nests a little farest. In that day most of penguins hadn't arrived but we could to see many of them. The images aren't so nice cause the weather and cause the zoom it was necessary.

Apesar do título não tenho certeza se é realmente um pinguim macho à espera de sua amada. Provavelmente é isso mesmo. A foto não ficou lá muito boa, a nitidez é fraca, acho que foi um problema com o excesso de zoom além do frio e do vento fortíssimo e cortante que havia ali, algo que não nos deixava muito confortáveis, além disso este animal estava bem distante da passarela. creio que a imagem é válida porque mostra bem o ambiente onde eles constroem seus ninhos.
Aqui vemos a colônia de pinguins do Seno Otway, uma das muitas baías do sul da Patagônia. Naquela região existem duas colônias de pinguins que podem ser visitadas. Uma delas fica na Ilha Madalena (no meio do estreito de Magalhães) e a outra é esta, a de Seno Otway, localizada na península de Brunswick. Esses dois lugares não estão distantes do centro de Punta Arenas. Esta espécie de pinguim vive nas águas do sul do Brasil (yes, nós temos pinguins)e só vão até a Patagônia para fazer ninhos e procriar. O primeiro a chegar é o macho que constrói ou reconstrói o ninho e fica à espera da sua fêmea. O local tem caminhos delimitados para que os visitantes não estressem os casais. Quando ia para o lacal imaginei que os ninhos estivessem ali mesmo, na praia, mas os ninhos estão localizados em tocas, um pouco afastados do mar.Naqueles dias ainda havia poucos animais pois era cedo demais, mesmo assim vimos um monte de pinguins. Pena que o tempo estivesse ruím e o zoom que utilizei acabou prejudicando a qualidade das fotos.
