Photographer's Note
The Patagonia - what an amazing place - this photo was taken in 2010 on a trip to Argentina & Chile.
We covered a lot of territory around the Southern region of both Countries - crossing in & out of the borders between Argentina / Chile.
I love the richness of the vegetation & the colours of the rocks in this region this photo was taken on the Chilean side in '' Torres Del Paine '' A famous National Park... Incredible place.
Please enjoy.

Hello Dawn,
Those places are stunning, the big "needles" covered by snow, and large valleis with lakes.
Patagonia is know as "Fin-del-Mundo", an intriguing destination for muchileros.
Nice divided picture space, bordered by the barbed-wire fence, and back-decored by the mountains.
Have a nice week ahewad,
Ike

Hello Dawn,
I am not so sure about the barbed wire fence, but I guess that beautifully coloured rock more than makes up for it. I like the layering effect and the wonderful depth. Also, the subdued lighting and muted tones.

Hello Dawn,
An impressive landscape of real wild beauty!
An attractive composition in different horizontal layers with alternating land and water.
But I don't understand well why you included the barbed wire. I even don't undertand why this wire is needed in a remote nature area.
Despite the overcast sky you're able to show us a very clear view with a fair colourful foreground. Well done!
Best regards, Paul

Bonjour Dawn,
J'aime beaucoup ce paysage. La roche à l'avant plan donne de la profondeur à l'ensemble et les nuages très bas apportent une touche toute spéciale à la composition.
Amicalement

Hi Dawn - it seems people are divided on the barbed wire fence here, but I acutally like the horizontal and vertical lines it brings to the bottom of the composition, accentuating the division between the different parts of the shot well. Maybe the post at right could have been cropped out, but the post at left actually works well here, I think.
And all that is before we even get to the main parts of the image, the rich orange rock in FG and the beautiful cloud-covered mountains in BG. Both are well shown here, and the way the mountains fade into the clouds adds a great sense of mystery and majesty to them. Nicely done!

Hi Dawn,
Wow, that is an incredible view! The snow capped peaks are stunning, and you have composed the scene perfectly, to include those colourful rocks and the fence, which adds extra depth to the shot. I loe all the different layers you have got here with the foreground, the water and the fine mountains. Really nice work.
All the best

Hi Dawn
A beautiful scene from detailed forground to the mounatins. I like the inclusion of the fence too.
Maybe a touch oversharpened (the clear white line along the lountain ridge of the left) but great anyway.
cheers

Hello Dawn,
a superb view that is very rich in interest, textures and colours. It's a captivating sight to explore, the neat horizontal layout of the of different colours and textures make the view very comfortable and pleasing. The contrasting vertical or diagonal patterns enrich the composition effectively (it would be even better if the pole on the right was not cropped a bit). Depth, lighting nd natural colours are rendered superbly. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Hi Dawn
The use of foreground is a good idea as part of the picture, but the point of interest is stretched beyond. This is a breathtaking, totally amazing work here, I really like how there is an echoing of the shape of the snow peak mountains in the grey cloud, rugged, wild area and well done with saturated colors truly a wild country. It is one of the most amazing parts of the world and you have captured the majesty of the place really well. Fabulous shot, Congrats
Warm regards

Hello Dawn,
One little advice: when a fence helps to
create an extra depth use it, when it
doesn't than is without mostly better
(less is more).
The beautiful surrounding and the great
point of view ensure that I forget the
fence and that I can enjoy from this
beautiful landscape.
Friendly regards,

Hello Dawn!
Wonderful landscape!
Beautiful picture!
Even the presence of that fence doesn't bother me. I see a reason for that being there.
Colors, exposure, sharpness, chosen pov and composition really pleased me!

Hi Dawn,
A scenic route indeed ! And it does look an incredible place ! Lovely capture of the panorama starting from the golden rock, which then leads the eye towards the lake shore, the low hills and last the beautiful snowy peaks.
A breathtaking view, I believe.

Hello Dawn,
I see that you traveled through Patagonia and visited "Torres Del Paine" National Park.
The composition of the photo is very good with colorful rock and fence in the foreground and the mountains' range with summits disappearing in the clouds in the background.
An excellent pov, dof, colors, light and sharpness.

Hello Dawn,
You're capturing well this landscape by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the mountain range with snow, the calm/blue lake and huge rock in FG. It is visible to the place where still rich nature is left behind here. The whole is harmonized well by rich natute elements. And, it's impressive in the thick clouds which have covered sky.
Kind regards,
mikio
