Photographer’s Note

Following up on my Patagonian travelogue, the ferry from Chiloe took us to the town of Chaiten (Pop 5,000) and the largest town in about 600 or 700 kilometers.

A few years ago there was a sitcom called NOrthern Exposure which was set in a lonesome alaskan town, that is what Chaiten reminded me off. Chaiten has a ocuple of paved streets has a frontier feel and is the northern end of the mythical Austral Highway a gravel road which goes through hundreads of kilometers of wilderness.
My plan was to find out the time for the only bus of the day and try to hitchhike up until the bus left, if I found no ride I would take the bus.
Happily on the boat I found a nice south african couple with a rented truck who took me along with them for three days, allowing us to stop on the way.

Wonderful color, lighting & sharpness. I like the clor contrast between the small yellow boat & predominant blue tones. The cloud shrouding the mt is a good addition. Bon travail!

Im in awe of Pantagonia. Ive heard stories of its beauty, but havent seen many photos. Yesterday's shot floored me, this one is also spectacular. I would say that Patagonia must be a landscapist's dream come true.

P.S. Who is going for the TE meeting in Poland?

Hola Daniel. otra buena vista de esta region maravillosa. Me encanta la composition, la que incluye todo, el mar (con el barquito), el pueblo y las montañas. Si, tienes razon, la region y los pueblitos de Patagonia son como lo de "Northern Exposure," una seria que me gustaba años pasado. Yo hize lo mismo que tu en el este de Turquia, hacer dedo mientras esperando por el bus... pero que suerte para encontrar esta pareja.

Moins magique qu'hier mais j'aime bien ce paysage complètement inconnu pour moi. Ta compo est bien menée, dans le sens du bâteau avec cette grande montagne calée à gauche.
