European settlers had a very hard time colonizing Patagonia, there the winds are very strong and cold, so they had to plant trees in order to create a micro ecosystem that permit to grow some vegetables and fruit trees, once inside the microsystem everything change, no much wind, many mosquitos and an european ecosystem very familiar to us.
Here we are inside an abandoned estancia ,overlooking Cerro Castillo mountain.

this is a wonderful view, and perfect photograph.
The fence is so smartly positioned in the frame: it makes a great intro into the house and the view. Amazing place, so beautiful. Patagonia is on the very top of the places which I would like to visit but most probably it will never happen. So I really enjoy the original reportage from this region which you are sharing,

ciao, buona serata

Colors, exposure, pov, horizontal format and composition are all outstanding features here! I just miss a bit more of sharpness and depth, but those are certainly minors problems (???) here (maybe a matter of personal taste)!
I also enjoyed your interesting note!
TFS - congratulations!
My warmest regards,

What a splendid photograph!
The choice of a very small aperture was a good idea to show amazing details of the fence all the way to infinity in the mountain range.
Colours, sharpness and subject are all great. this is truly an excellent photograph and will now be one of my favourite. Congratulations.

Great work with the fence leading the eye to the barn. Good color and of course the snow-covered mountains in the background are a major strong point as well. It reminds me of Wyoming and the Teton mountains.
Nice photo for sure!.........Greg from Florida

This is one of my favorites of yours! Beautifully composed, with gorgeous light, and of course the mountains of Patagonia in the background. A real winner! Warm regards,

The fence and the power position is a very
good combination, beacuse that creates the
very nice depth in this picture. The great
light management shows every detail ( no
hard shadows in the picture) and make the
colors beautiful. The great compostion
makes the picture nice calmness.
speedymanu (3485) 2012-04-17 9:18
Your framing brings out a dramatic perspective. Yet it remains a peaceful serene composition. The colors are lovely, crisp and strong. Thanks for sharing,

Great photo. Patagonia is one of the most beautiful places I have visited, but as you said the wind and cold make it uninhabitable, and maybe it is a good thing, I think we have plenty of places to live on this earth, we can keep of the places like Patagonia wild and pristine.
Love the prespective of this shot, the way the fence leading in to the abandoned barne and mountains.
