[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Valle de la Luna (valley of the moon) lies in the Atacama desert just west of San Pedro de Atacama. It is part of the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos.
The whole are has salt deposits as you can see in the foreground of the shot. We also went into some caves close by which were encrusted with salt.

So this seems to be the place where the Sun lives Wanda! You've been to this magnificent place and captured a superbly intricate and well woven visual of tones, textures and glowing lights so perfectly well.

Hi Wanda,

A DREAM !!!!
Mystic image, and a superb presentation.
All the best, dear friend.

hello Wanda
superb colours and light for this strange landscape!I light the lightened foregroung making the salt very white and contrasting with the brown ground!A pity that the sky is a little bit noisy, but it must be easy to correct it!
Have a nice day.
Pascale

A very moody scene Wanda, well captyred. I can see where the place gets it's name from - isn't this the place where they supposedly trained the astronauts?
cheers
Leon

Wanda good evening
A short note to compliment on this beautiful minimalist capture of yours. I really like this diversity of beautiful colors and the black stripe in the middle that enhances the two parts for what they are. Very well composed, indeed.

Nice ambiance...

Good combination of blue hour and flash. For a scan, it is quite good.
Interesting result. I assume you did not have a tripod.
Good work

Hi Wanda,
this picture is very emotional - almost frightening. The black mountains seem to talk to me... A wonderful shot and excellent use of light. The white salt in the front is perfect! Wonderful photo.
Regards,
Linda

hi Wanda,
if everything goes well, I'll get to visit this place in January 2009 :) any tips or advices?
but back to the photo - absolutelly surreal, no wonder the place is called Valle de la Luna. the grain of the film and illuminated foreground with salt deposits add to the unearthy feeling, I think you have captured the characteristics of the place very well.

best,
Kristine
