Photographer’s Note
This is Villarrica Volcano, it is a marvelous mountain with 2,874 meters of altitude. Mapuche indians called it Rucapillán (Devil´s home), they knew how terrible it can be. It is ever working and sending smoke out. I think this is a typical image we have of an volcano since we were children. Pucon is a little city, located very near of it, in the edges of the lake. When I saw this volcano shining in the sun I didn't want to stop to watching it. It is marvelous. The last big eruption was in 1971 but in front of municipality building there is a electric sign showing 3 colors: Green, when the volcano is calm, yellow when there is a risk of damage and RED, when you should to scape faster you can. In my WORKSHOP you can see a photo of Pucon's town-house with the green light in front. I was safe that day.

Hi Jorge,
excellent shot. I like especially the contrast between the smooth and symmetrical white volcano and the black, filigree wood in foreground.
Thanks for sharing.

Bom dia Jorge!

hello Jorge,
smart use of the black silhouettes of the trees in the foreground to emphasise the pure white of the snow-covered volcano. and excellent light management, it would have been easy to over- or under expose the snow, but you have found the right balance between showing enough textures and details, and capturing the blinding whiteness. thanks for the informative note, and I hope that light never goes beoynd yellow :)
with best regards,
Kristine

Ainda bem, amigo.

Hi Jorge. Excellent photo. You have captured a pristine mountain without any hint of anything in the snow, just perfectly smooth. I love the contrast with the sharp silhouettes also. Simply beautiful and thanks for sharing.
