Photographer’s Note
La Serena in Region de Coquimbo is a famous, safe and relaxed beach resort in Northern Chile. The surrounding area is also popular with tourists, such as Coquimbo city, Isla Damas in the Parque Nacional Pinguino de Humboldt, Fray Jorge Reserve, Valle del Encanto and Valle del Elqui. Further into the Elqui Valley is a legal pass into Argentina that leads to San Juan via San José de Jachal. The Valley Elqui being dry but with wineyards and bushes, the landscape changes drastically going up towards the pass which is located at 4.775 m above sea level, from million coloured mountains, lakes and rivers to glaciers. This photo is from around half the way up.

Fabulous scene Thrudur. Really strong composition with the dirt track leading the viewer nicely into the shot. Great colours, with a fine sky and well defined clouds. The character is perfectly placed & adds a real sense of perspective.
Very fine piece of work. Best regards, Roberto

The colors so typical of the Andean altopoano are great, with their reddish tones. The human figure in the white stretch of road is perfect.
I like the polarized sky.

Thrudur,
This is a very interesting landscape, it looks more like a Martian landscape than one on Earth. The person walking add a nice sense of scale to the shot as well as a human touch. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Hello Thrudur,
What a great contrast you captured and showing an unbelievable difference between two separate part of Chile. I like bald mountains in rust color and its splendid tones with snowy mountain and cloudy sky. The road creates good depth and visitor helps to scale your huge view correctly. A great works, congratulations.
