Photographer’s Note

Embalse Puclaro Dam is located in fertile Elqui valley, it dams the Elqui river and creates a reservoir of water that regulates water supply i.e. for irrigating the semi arid valley fields.It has the capacity for 200 million cubic meters built from 1996 to 1999, it's 600m long and just over 80m high built across a narrow rock gorges.There is a walkway accesible to visitors from a gravel road leading up to the top of the dam. There is nothing really spectacular about the dam, it simply serves it's purpose, but what attracts me is the amazing beauty of nature around it. it is close to the city of La Serena in the middle of Chile.

Hi Gil,
You sure have captured very well that beauty. It's a wonderful landscape. I love those catusus on the side of the right cliff and the bright light reflections on the water. Nice layers of the mountains in the back, as well.

Hi Gil. I've just see you comment about a photo of mine. So... why don't I see your's. This picture looks amazing!.. the water and the rocks looks so sharp. I like it very much. I saw too that yo've been in almost every countries in South America but you don't have any pictures from my country Uruguay. You shoud come and see how are the places in Uruguay: fantastic!.
